Pfeiffer the work in progress on the chapel of St. John the Baptist.  He gave instructions about the sacristy plan.  Then we drove back to Gensan and attended the meeting for catechists by Fr. Pfeiffer.  Among the topics discussed were the output of the children's camp conducted on the first week of May; the goals for the catechism apostolate; the plan for the feast of St. John the Baptist - the patron of the mission village in Kawas; and the importance of encouraging catechism students and contacts to make the First Saturday Devotion.  During the meeting, an Apostle of Mary member was recommended to coordinate the General Santos City to Davao section of the nationwide Pilgrimage.

3:  Feast of the Most Sacred Heart :  Invited people to attend Holy Mass and Night Adoration.  Prepared the Altar and served at Mass and Midnight Benediction.

Then after Holy Mass, cleaned up and collected all the things used at the Mass. Assisted at the dinner of the Priest then locked up the Chapel for the night.  About to sleep, the power went off, so two AoM immediately stood guard to secure the chapel and construction site while two AoM tried to establish contact with the electric cooperative to determine the duration of the blackout.  They could not give an answer so the watch schedule was indefinite but fortunately it didn't take the whole night!

Pfeiffer gave a spiritual conference on how to acquire Eternal Wisdom.  After a barbecue supper with Father, we prayed the Compline, then drove Father to the bus terminal for his trip to Marbel.

19:  Prepared the chapel and sacristy and assisted at Holy Mass as servers and choir.  Before Mass, gathered the children and briefly reminded them about the proper behavior inside the Church and after the Mass, conducted a short game for the little children.  Attended meeting by Fr. Pfeiffer for the villagers of Kawas and the catechists assigned there to discuss the approaching fiesta.  After the meeting, attended the 2-hour conference by Fr. Pfeiffer for the catechists where he explained about the basic Fatima catechism that must be taught in catechism centers. Then we attended the Spiritual Conference about Eternal Wisdom.   In the end we knelt to receive blessing from Fr. Pfeiffer and drove him to the terminal.

2016 May

May 2-6:  Children's Camp at Rosa Mystica Chapel grounds
One hundred and fifteen children attended the summer camp.  The participants came from South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City.  Discipline was the top priority of the camp and it was very rewarding to see children keeping silence in the Church during prayer and Holy Mass.  The main theme of the camp was the meaning of the Fatima apparitions.  Children were divided according to their knowledge of the catechism.  There was a class for basic catechism and a class on the History and Significance of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima.

Forty facilitators directed by Rev. Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer assisted in the camp as catechists and teacher aides, food service, maintenance, and security crew.  Among the facilitators were 3 Sisters and 2 Brothers of the Society of St. Pius X.  There were facilitators from Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Agusan and Davao.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported the camp by prayers, voluntary service, monetary assistance and food gifts.  Thank you and God bless you all.
