2014 May 31 - The Queenship of Mary

The Queenship of Mary the Mother of God

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

The whole Month of May is dearly dedicated to Mary. It is a tradition in Philippines to pray the rosary and offer flowers on her. In the 13th of May, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in Fatima and on the 31st, she was crowned as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Flores de Mayo is never meant for parade, it was meant to exercise such great devotion to Mary as the Mother of God and as we pray the Holy Rosary it forms like beautiful roses as her crown and flowers we lay on her feet as she walk in humbly full virtues and graces of God.

2014 May 2 - AoM invigorated...

Oh yes, how sufferings and tribulations came to our midst, which made us very weary and dispirited that some of us lost heart...

We would have gone under but because of Our Lady's mantle we were protected and those of us who strayed or tarried were once again recalled on the right track, invigorated, inspired and enlightened...

So we again see and think clearly and resolve to stand up and fight even more!

Here we witness the badging of a new Apostle. How he aspired to be an Apostle someday! As an Aspirant he proved himself for years through virtues and interior life, he finally receives the honor to be an Apostle of Mary. Ave Maria!
Jose Daraug from Marbel City humbly receives the badge from the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer after the Youth Camp in Bohol which the AoM organized after the Pilgrimage.

Fr. Pfeiffer explains to young people the Apostles of Mary league:
What it is, who the members are, what they are up to, how they try to live the four foundations and how they dedicate their lives in the service of Mary.
AND THEN....

Fr. Tim made the roll call of Apostles, gave new badges and new shirts which we received with bright faces.  .
May we continue the work that some of us have neglected for a long time.
For those of us who had become inactive for some time, we realized how hard it was to fight without our "coat and arm in battle"!
But now, rebadged and reanimated, we can do more by the grace of God!
We will Fight!  Viva Cristo Rey!

2014 May 12-16 - St. John Bosco Summer Camp

The 5 days Summer Camp was successful.  Deo gratias!!!   Seventy-three children participated and learned basic prayers (Morning and evening prayer, prayer before and after meal, rosaries and others), memorized the 10 Commandments and what each commandment meant and learned by heart the 15 mysteries of the Rosary.

We are thanking everyone who supported us in prayers, donations of food and money. We thank St. Joseph and Our Lady for their help, and most especially, we thank God above Who is our first benefactor!

We are still working on the update of the Holy Week ceremonies, Easter Sunday,Pilgrimage in Bohol and Post Camp in Bohol, please bear with the slow progress of our updates in this blog.

Oh Mary Queen of Apostles - Pray for us!

served at the Palm Sunday Ceremony.
Procedamus in pace.  In nomine Christi.

Pueri Hebraeorum portantes ramos olivarum obviaverunt Domino, clamantes et dicentes. Hosanna in excelsis!
Gloria, laus, et honor, tibi sit, Rex Christi Redemptor:
Cui puerile decus prompsit Hosanna pium.
Plebs Hebraea tibi cum palmis obvia venit:  Cum prece voto, hymnis, adsumus ecce tibi.
Ingrediente Domino in sanctam civitatem..!

ALL glory, praise, and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King,
to whom the lips of children made sweet Hosannas ring.

2014 April 7 - In the Mission Field

Braving the terrible heat in Gensan, we went to a village called "Uhaw",which literally means "Thirst" because it used to be an arid zone with no drinking water for miles around... until the poor homeless people habitated the land and brought water by gallons and carts and much later, by PVC pipes.

If you teach me often enough, I can read the stories on my own and then I'll be a teacher too!

I have a head and I have ears and I am ready to listen!

How do I love God?  By learning and keeping the 10 Commandments.
Numbers are for counting our blessings!

Listen, it is easy to read faces...

and if you can read faces, you can read hearts too!
Guess which color is the heart that is filled with pride?

Now it's time to learn to write manuscripts...

Let us not idolize school but let us learn with the purpose of knowing, loving and serving God better.
